Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011 - 2020

Die Weltgesundheitsorganisation WHO hat einen globalen Plan für das Jahrzehnt der Aktionen für Straßenverkehrssicherheit 2011 - 2020 herausgegeben.

The UN Road Safety Collaboration has developed a Global Plan for the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020 with input from many partners through an extensive consultation process through meetings and the Internet. The Plan provides an overall framework for activities which may take place in the context of the Decade. The categories or "pillars" of activities are: building road safety management capacity; improving the safety of road infrastructure and broader transport networks; further developing the safety of vehicles; enhancing the behaviour of road users; and improving post-crash care. Indicators have been developed to measure progress in each of these areas. Governments, international agencies, civil society organizations, the private sector and other stakeholders are invited to make use of the Plan as a guiding document for the events and activities they will support as part of the Decade.

Die UN Straßenverkehrssicherheitsvereinigung hat einen globalen Plan für das nächste Jahrzehnt (2011 bis 2020) entwickelt. Dazu haben viele Partner durch einen extensiven Beratungsprozess auf Treffen und im internet beigetragen. Der Plan liefert ein allumfassendes Rahmenwerk für Aktivitäten, die in diesem Jahrzehnt stattfinden können.

Die wichtigsten Stützen für entsprechende Aktivitäten:

  • Kapazitäten schaffen, um die Verkehrssicherheit zu managen
  • Verbesserung der Sicherheit der Straßeninfrastruktur und der Verkehrswege
  • Die Sicherheit der Fahrzeuge selbst weiter entwickeln
  • Das Verhalten der Straßenbenutzer thematisieren
  • Verbesserung der Versorgung nach einem Unfall.

Es wurden Indikatoren entwickelt, mit denen man die Fortschritte auf diesen Gebieten messen kann. Regierungen, internationalen Agenturen, zivile gesellschaftliche Organisationen, der private Sektor und andere Verantwortliche werden aufgefordert, von diesem Plan Gebrauch zu machen, als Leitfaden für Ereignisse und Aktivitäten zur Unterstützung dieses Jahrzehnt der Verkehrssicherheit.

Governments, international agencies, civil society organizations and private companies from more than 100 countries are launching the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020. From Tanzania to Sri Lanka and from Namibia to Mexico, presidents and prime ministers are expressing their commitment and launching national plans for the Decade. To symbolize the launch, national monuments are illuminated with the road safety "tag", the new symbol for the Decade, from New York City, to Rio de Janeiro, Warsaw, Sydney, Moscow, Colombo and Geneva. These events mark the start of the Decade which seeks to save 5 million lives over the ten-year period.

Regierungen, internationale Agenturen, zivile gesellschaftliche Organisationen und private Gesellschaften aus über 100 Ländern haben am 11. Mai 2011 offiziell das Jahrzehnt der Aktionen für Straßensicherheit 2011 bis 2020 eingeleitet. Auf nationalen Monumenten war das „tag“ zu sehen, das Symbol für Verkehrssicherheit.

Von Tansania bis Sri Lanka und von Namibia bis Mexiko erklärten die Präsidenten und Premierminister ihr Einverständnis und wollen nationale Pläne auflegen. Ziel dabei ist, in dem kommenden Jahrzehnt 5 Millionen Leben zu retten.

Governments, international agencies, civil society organizations, private companies - all of us who travel the world's roads - are encouraged to plan and host an event on 11 May 2011 marking the official launch of the Decade of Action for Road Safety 2011-2020. This calendar of activities around the world represents a listing of activities reported to WHO by country. Although the list is not exhaustive, it is hoped that it will facilitate the coordination of events taking place in the same city or country and inform and inspire others to join these events or host events of their own. Please note that the information received about an event will not be edited, and will be presented in the language in which it was received.

Die einzelnen Länder haben der WHO mitgeteilt, welche Aktionen sie planen. Diese Listen werden im internet veröffentlicht und sollen dazu dienen, die entsprechenden Vorhaben einer Stadt/eines Landes besser zu koordinieren und andere zu informieren und anzuregen, sich diesen Aktionen anzuschließen bzw. selbst entsprechende Vorhaben zu initiieren.

Below is a list by country of some national and regional NGOs advocating for road safety and road victims. Such groups are instrumental in moving the road safety agenda forward in their countries, as they mobilize policy makers in support of road safety policies and programmes, provide services to victims and their families and conduct high-profile national and local events and activities for the public. Many of those listed participated in the WHO-hosted Global Meeting of NGOs Advocating for Road Safety and Road Victims in May 2009.
